Bible Thursday 4/9: The Bitter Cup

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 142:1-7. Verse 3 KJV, amid this pandemic what feels overwhelming right now for me, for people around me, or for our country? What is God’s answer to that?

Habakkuk 2:1-20. Verse 1, what does God want me to be watching for, both from him and from the enemy? What active response does he then expect from me?

John 13:1-30. Verses 12-14, by what daily attitudes and actions can I obey Jesus’ mandate to wash others’ feet?

Matthew 26:17-56. Verse 39, what can I specifically do today to put God’s will ahead of my own will?
