Bible Saturday 5/30: Cry to Him

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 74:1-23. Verses 9-12, what if a new Christian, worn out with the pandemic and unsure of God, asked me these two questions, “How long?” and “Why?” How would I spiritually reassure that person?

Joel 1:1-20. Verses 13-15, on and on goes the Covid crisis with its medical, economic, and social hardships. Even if my church is already doing a lot for the congregation and the community, what more can it do? Where is the urgency?

Ephesians 5:22-33. For my spouse, and other persons precious to me, what would it specifically look like today for me to love them sacrificially as Jesus loved the church?

John 17:1-10. Verse 3, by what attitudes and actions would others know that I am partaking of life eternal, not only in the future but this very day?
