As persecution rages, pray the Psalms

“Why do the heathen rage… against the Lord and against his anointed?” asks Psalm 2. It’s because the worldly mind can’t stand the truth and love of God as made known in Jesus Christ and as exemplified in the lives of Christians today.

Bibles burned, saints’ statues desecrated, churches padlocked or torched—vicious persecution is now occurring not just in distant lands but in cities across America.

Here’s a 6-minute video I did about the issue, praying as we’re prompted by Psalm 2, for my church’s ongoing devotional series. God laughs his enemies to scorn, the psalmist assures us.

God blesses us when we put our trust in him, says the final verse. This psalm saw the early church through persecution (Acts 4), and it will see us through as well.  He has promised!
