Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 56:1-13. Verses 5-7, who wishes me ill, that I know of, be it individuals or groups? How can I obtain God’s protection from those evil intentions?
Genesis 22:1-24. The binding of Isaac. What is the most difficult test of my faith in God that I have ever experienced? What did I learn? Present application?
Hebrews 11:17-29. Verse 26, how can Moses be said to have taken a stand for Christ, a thousand years before Jesus came? What are the “treasures in Egypt” I must turn away from in these times?
Matthew 7:21-29. Empty professions of “Lord, Lord.” What specific opportunities will I have today to match words with deeds in claiming to follow Jesus?
