Bible Thursday 1/21: Wolves in Disguise

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 53:1-6. Verse 1, denying God. What forms do atheism, idolatry, and paganism take in my community? What is my church doing about it? My role?

Genesis 21:1-34. Isaac and Ishmael at odds, God’s care for both. The animosity of Jew vs. Muslim, some say, started here. What am I as a Christian to make of this in the modern world?

Hebrews 9:23-28. Verse 28, what has the eventual second coming of Christ have to do with the way I live my daily life?

Matthew 7:13-20. What lessons has experience taught me about the broad way to destruction and the narrow way to life in Christ? Present application?
