Bible Wednesday 1/20: Golden Rule

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 51:1-19. Verses 10-12, what is unclean within me today that I’m asking God privately, just between him and me, to wash away and make new?

Genesis 20:1-18. Abraham and Sarah again falsely claim to be brother and sister. When have I caught myself in a tangled web of lies? How did God show up? Present application?

Hebrews 9:11-22. Verse 14, how will the blood of Christ make a difference as I go about my day today?

Matthew 7:1-12. Verse 12, today as America sees a new president succeed the old, how should the Golden Rule guide my approach to citizenship and politics this year?
