Bible Friday 1/8: The Righteous Judge

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 19:1-14. Verse 14 KJV, what’s my yardstick for knowing which words and thoughts are acceptable in God’s sight? Where did I most notably fall short yesterday? Action point?

Genesis 8:1-22. Verse 21, after the flood, God restrains his anger at human imperfection. What evidence have I of his restraint toward me? How can I thank him?

I Peter 3:18-22. Verse 21, what sinful part of me was washed away or, as it were, drowned, when I was baptized into Christ? How will the risen Jesus make a difference in my life today?

John 2:1-11. What shall I ask Jesus to bring about miraculously today in my life, or that of someone important to me, or that of our country, that would seem as impossible as turning water into wine?
