Bible Wednesday 3/10: Required for Entry

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 22:1-31. Remembering that verse 1 was Jesus’ anguished prayer on the cross, can’t I—when hope seems gone—take heart from the words of trust and assurance in verses 22-24?

Proverbs 19:1-29. Verse 27, why would I give time to reading the Bible and then give equal time, or more, to consuming media and messages that negate the Bible? What’s in my daily intake that shouldn’t be?

Romans 11:13-24. Verse 22 KJV, how did 2020 dramatize for me both the goodness and the severity of God? Lessons for 2021?

Matthew 18:1-9. Verse 3, which of the childlike qualities, beloved by Jesus and required by him, comes hardest to me? What small daily action can I take to gain that quality from God and live it?
