Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 77:1-20. Verse 3 KJV, what does it say about the character of God, that he lets us complain to him? What complaint if any am I moved to make to God today? What do I think would happen then?
Leviticus 6:1-30. Verses 1-7, God’s disapproval of theft, lying, perjury, and fraud. How could this same God be indifferent to present-day ethics and politics where both property and truth are relativized to the vanishing point? Is my church clear on this?
Galatians 4:1-7. Our adoption as sons and daughters of the triune God. How does my identity as it is registered in heaven differ from the world’s evaluation and depiction of me? Application for today?
Matthew 28:16-20. Jesus’ great commission for evangelism in his name. What is my church doing about this? My role?
