Bible Friday 5/7: Attentive

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 17:1-15. Verse 15, looking into God’s face with the eyes of my heart, what do I see there? What response does it demand from me as I go through this day?

Exodus 26:1-37. Meticulous detail of God’s specifications for his tabernacle. What’s on my mind at present, in the way of things I assumed were too minor for God to help with or object to? Are they indeed too minor?

I Corinthians 7:25-40. Verse 35, attend upon the Lord without distraction. Reviewing yesterday, what were some worldly things that distracted me from God? How can I stay more focused on him today?

John 8:12-20. Verse 12, related question, if walking in the light of Jesus or the darkness of self is actually a choice we make from minute to minute, how did I do yesterday? Action plan for the next three hours?
