Bible Saturday 5/8: Free Indeed

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 18:1-50. Verse 48, who are the enemies that I need God to deliver me from at present?

Exodus 27:1-21. For the tabernacle, the finest materials and rich colors. By analogy, what qualities of character does God want trained into me or purged out of me, that I may be fit to serve him?

I Corinthians 8:1-13. Verse 11, what person is God telling me to see with new eyes today, realizing that Christ died for them—and then for me to treat them accordingly?

John 8:21-36. Verses 32 and 36, how does the freedom Jesus promises us differ from that which we think about in the social or political realm. What responsibility comes with freedom in Christ?
