Bible Thursday 8/26: In Touch

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 138:1-8. Verse 8 KJV, what is there in my life right now that is incomplete, imperfect, intractable, insufficient, or unsatisfactory, that I can ask God to perfect for me?

Joshua 17:1-18. Verses 16-18, complaints and excuses of Joseph’s descendants, rebuked by Joshua. When has my whining to God, “I can’t,” met with his commanding answer, “Through Me, yes you can”?

Amos 7:1-9. Verse 8, does God still expect us to obey his plumbline, a single unchanging standard of what is right, good, and true? What is my church doing about that? My role?

Luke 5:12-16. To whom that may feel rejected or excluded today can I extend a hand of kindness and acceptance, as Jesus did to this leper? If inadequate to do so of myself, how can I access God’s help?
