Bible Wednesday 8/25: Beyond the Shallows

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 135:1-21. Verse 7, do I believe that weather and climate are directed by God, by human activity, or by natural forces unrelated to either of those? Why does it matter?

Joshua 16:1-10. God’s map for the lands of the half-tribe of Ephraim. If God loves me and my family no less than he loved those Israelites, hasn’t he mapped out our lives every bit as wisely as theirs?

Amos 6:1-14. Verse 12, righteousness poisoned with hemlock by those who turn from God. What are some of the moral and spiritual poisons polluting our modern world? What can I do about them?

Luke 5:1-11. Verse 10, does God want me to learn to fish for souls? If yes, where do I go to be taught, coached, mentored?
