Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 95:1-11. Verses 7 and 8, hearing God’s voice with a soft heart, not a hard heart. What does this require of me today with the situations I’ll experience, the people I’ll encounter?
Hosea 14:1-9. The prophet’s ordeal culminates in reconciliation. Verse 2, receive us graciously. Verse 4, I will love them freely. When have I had to carry out a difficult task for God? What was the result?
II Peter 3:1-9. God’s timing and disposal of events are far better than ours. When have I seen this proved? What present need does it address?
Mark 14:53-65. Verse 62, how does Jesus’ eventual return in power and glory, foretold by himself, impact the life that I and my family and my church are leading right now in 2021?
