Bible Monday 10/4: Lean In

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 88:1-18. Verse 13, how can I make my first encounter with God each morning more pleasing to him and more beneficial to myself? Action point for today?

I Chronicles 11:1-47. Valiant deeds of King David’s captains and warriors. What is the bravest thing I ever set out to do for God? Am I now prepared to surpass that?

Galatians 6:1-10. Verse 9, in what specific way am I now at risk of becoming weary in well doing? How can I summon up the resolve and strength to see it through?

Luke 11:37-44. How does the Pharisee attitude subtly infect the thoughts and actions of a sincere Christ-follower such as I try to be? What is God’s remedy, expected of me today?
