Bible Friday 1/28: Seven Days' March

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 71:1-24. Verses 5 and 9, how have the passing years changed my relationship with God and my reliance on him? Granted more years of life, what’s next for me spiritually?

Deuteronomy 28:1-68. Israel given a choice between two futures, joy with God or misery without God. How directly does this scenario apply to our country in these times? My church’s role? My role?

Hebrews 11:30-40. Verse 30, what spiritual Jericho am I marching around right now, seeing no change as the days pass, fighting discouragement, groaning daily, “Not again, Lord”? Should I just quit?

Matthew 9:9-13. Are the people on whom I spend most of my time and effort as a Christian, actually the people Jesus wants me to companion with and care for?
