Bible Friday 1/21: Build Well

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 40:1-17. Verse 8 KJV, doing God’s will and experiencing delight as a result. What exactly would this look like in my daily life?

Deuteronomy 21:1-23. Verses 18-21, putting to death a rebellious son. Yet the father in Jesus’ story of the prodigal did just the opposite. When has God showed me undeserved mercy? When has my family done so?

Hebrews 10:1-10. What can I specifically do today to thank Jesus Christ, in some small way, for having died to save and sanctify me?

Matthew 7:21-29. Is there a building project I care about, for which the Lord today warns me, “Build not on sand but on rock”—?
