Bible Sunday 5/8: Eternal Priorities

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 18:1-50. Verse 2, seven forms of military defense representing God’s protection for his loved ones. What attackers, material and spiritual, must I be ready to fight off today?

Ezekiel 23:;1-49. God likens Jerusalem to a lewd prostitute. How is the church in our time tempted by similar sins?

I Corinthians 11:17-26. How important is the Lord’s Supper in my Christian life? Is Jesus well pleased with me in this?

John 6:22-27. Verse 27, reviewing the past year, where can I see my efforts and goals oriented too much toward earthly satisfaction and too little toward eternal life? Action point for this year?
