Bible Friday 7/15: Selfless Faith

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 37:1-40. Verse 5, is there some matter of great importance that I have been taking too much on myself and failing to commit it trustfully to God?

II Samuel 8:1-18. Verse 15, the just reign of King David. Is God’s justice individual or social or both? Is my church clear on this?

Acts 13:1-12. Verse 9, Saul of Tarsus now known in the church as Paul (little man). If Jesus were to give me a new name reflecting what he knows of me and requires of me, what might that be?

Mark 7:24-30. Å mother’s humble faith touches Jesus, and her daughter is healed. As a parent, what’s the lesson here for me?
