Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 72:2, 4, 12, 13, how the righteous ruler, fearing God, helps the poor and needy. What more could my church be doing in this direction? My role?
Job 27:1-23. Verse 8, hypocrites, beware of bargaining away your soul. Is this warning directed only at others, or equally applicable to me? Where is my point of vulnerability?
II Corinthians 9:1-15. Verses 7 and 8, who is the best example I personally know of an openhearted giver, abounding in good works by God’s grace?
Luke 9:10-17. What situation of scarcity am I involved with right now, where the miraculous loaves-and-fishes authority of the Lord Jesus is needed?
