Bible Saturday 9/10: I Will Defend

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 31:1-24. Verse 15 KJV, what would today look like if I’m held in God’s hand and untouched by the enemy’s hand, every moment?

II Kings 19:1-37. Verse 34, what encouragement can I take today from the living God vowing to defend me and mine as mightily as he has vowed to defend Jerusalem?

Job 11:1-20. Verse 6, Zophar pompously tells Job he deserved to suffer even worse. How well prepared am I to reflect wisely and lovingly on why bad things happen to good people?

Luke 6:27-36. What opportunity can I find today to love my enemies in the way that Jesus both taught and exemplified?
