Bible Tuesday 9/20: Mirror of Christ

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 55:1-23. Verses 9-11, what specific situation in my town or city shall I bring before God today?

Job 21:1-34. A student, exposed to this chapter in lit class, asks me why bother to live by the rules if outcomes are morally random. What’s my answer?

II Corinthians 3:7-4:6. Verse 18, looking at the face of Jesus in the mirror of Scripture, what beautiful or powerful attribute of his do I especially want to express more fully today?

Luke 8:1-10. Verses 2 and 3, that same skeptical student again, this time asking me if Jesus and his church are all about keeping women down or lifting them up. What’s my answer?
