Bible Monday 9/19: Love Letter

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 51:1-1-19. Verses 9-12, is this process of God cleansing, renewing, and restoring me, a onetime occurrence in the past, or constant and ongoing? If the latter, where do I need it right now?

Job 20:1-29. Zophar elaborates on how God punishes the wicked. Why are those core concepts of Scripture, wickedness and punishment, so little spoken of in our churches? How does this endanger me?

II Corinthians 2:12-3:6. Verse 3, thinking of myself as a “letter” describing how Jesus changes people, what would friends and family “read” in me that is persuasive? What would I not want them to read?

Luke 7:36-50. what can I do today to show my gratitude to Jesus in an unreserved and extravagant way, an act of witness that makes others stop and take notice?
