Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 36:1-12. Verse 8, how shall I actually go about drinking of the river of God’s pleasures on this day? What can I expect to gain by doing so?
II Chronicles 21:1-20. Jehoram’s bad kingship, dishonoring God, is denounced by Elijah. What would need to happen, over time, for God’s authority to be reestablished in America’s public square? My role?
Malachi 3:11-4:6. Verses 14 and 15, when have I been tempted to believe that serving God is more trouble than it’s worth, and that the sinner’s way seems preferable? What did I learn?
Luke 22:1-13. Verse 3, is there present in me, any of the weakness that Satan was able to exploit in Judas? What’s to be done?
