Bible Thursday 3/28: The Flock Scatters

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 88:1-18. When have I felt lonely, solitary, isolated, deserted, abandoned? How did God show up? Application to present needs?

Lamentations 3:1-66. Verses 22-26, great is thy faithfulness, source of a beloved old hymn. What current struggle has been dragging me down, as if this time God’s compassions might fail me?

John 13:1-30. Verses 14-17, what person’s feet can I wash (figuratively) as Jesus commands me here?

Matthew 26:17-56. Verses 33-35, is there some area of my Christian life where my deeds don’t match my words? What’s to be done?
