Bible Saturday 4/13: Rich unto Good Works

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 105:1-45. Verse 37, God provides silver and gold for his people. For what church or ministry am I asking God to send abundant financial resources today?

Ezekiel 6:1-14. What are the worst idols holding sway over my community today? What is my church doing about it?

I Corinthians 9:1-18. Verse 16, a compulsion to preach the gospel. Who is a lay-person that I know, someone not formally in ministry, that constantly “preaches with his or her life” all the time? How can I emulate them?

John 6:52-59. What would it look like for me to eat the flesh and blood of Jesus Christ not just in church but daily or even hourly? Action point for today?
