Bible Saturday 10/25: Sing When It's Darkest

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 137:1-9. Verse 4, today shall I allow my circumstances to overrule my faith, or shall I insist that my faith overrules my circumstances?

Ii Chronicles 2:1-18. King Solomon engages with the King of Tyre for the finest of labor and materials to build God’s temple. What is the biggest challenge I ever undertook for the glory of God? Applicable lessons for today?

Philippians 3:12-4:1. Verse 18, enemies of the cross of Christ. Who might these be in our day and age? What would Jesus have me do to combat and counteract them?

Luke 18:31-34. Related, why is the full impact of Jesus’ crucifixion and resurrection often lost on those who should understand and value it the most? How can I center all my thoughts and actions upon this today?
