Bible Sunday 11/9: One Thing

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 27:1-14. Verse 4, by what practical thoughts and actions today shall I carry out my desire to dwell with God, inquire of him, and behold his beauty?

II Chronicles 17:1-19. Jehoshaphat, becoming king after Asa, summons the nation back to God. What would revival look like in my church over the coming year? My role?

Malachi 3:1-10. Related, verse 10, God promises to pour out a blessing if the people bring tithes to his house. By what is my tithe measured, in addition to money? What forms of self-deception get in the way of this?

Luke 21:29-38. Verse 36, what is the watchfulness Jesus asks of me in order to be worthy of standing before him?
