Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 23:1-6. Verse 4, what valley am I or a loved one walking through right now? How can I enter into God’s comfort, fearing no evil?
II Chronicles 16:1-14. Asa’s reign ends badly after he breaks faith with God. When have I willfully or fearfully reached for human help when divine help was there for the asking? Present application?
Malachi 2:13-17. What pattern of behavior on my part is trying God’s patience at present? What stern judgment may be in store for me?
Luke 21:20-28. If Jesus returns today, what do I want him to find me doing?
