Bible Friday 11/7: Brother against Brother

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 20:1-9. Verse 5, what’s the banner I live under, my reputation and character—the name of God, or something less, even something opposite? How would others notice today?

II Chronicles 15:1-19. Asa the king and Azariah the prophet summon the Israelites back to God. What would revival look like in my church over the coming year? My role?

Malachi 2:1-12. Verse 10, have we not all one Father? What can my church do about factions, rivalries, and strife in our community? My role?

Luke 21:7-19. Jesus warns of the persecutions we will suffer for his name’s sake. Do the relative ease and comfort of my life mean I’ve been playing it too safe? Do I need to be more “out there” as a Christian?
