Bible Thursday 11/6: Deliverance

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 18:1-50. Verses 16 and 17, what deep waters do I need God to rescue me from today? From what strong enemy do I need him deliver me?

I Chronicles 14:1-15. Verse 11, King Asa recognizes that we’re never outnumbered when we’re on God’s side. Application to present needs?

Malachi 1:9-14. How may I be tempted to offer God my second best today? What’s at stake?

Luke 20:45-21:6. Related, Jesus commends a poor widow for giving God her all. What would it look like today for me to give sacrificially for love of God and neighbor? What measures this, beside money?
