Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 63:1-11. Verse 1, how will I experience today the soul’s thirst for God? How will I experience my flesh’s longing for God? How will it feel when those cravings begin to be satisfied?
II Chronicles 31:1-21. The Israelites tithe abundantly for the praise and honor of God. As we approach Thanksgiving and the close of the year, how can I share more generously the bounty God has given me?
Revelation 10:1-11. Verse 9, related, out of everything Jesus has required of me this year, what were the sweetest and bitterest parts? Am I able to receive all of it meekly, gratefully, and reverently?
Matthew 24:15-28. Verse 24, what are some false Christs and false prophets that Jesus is warning me to beware of at this time? What steps can I take to make the one true Christ known?
