Bible Sunday 11/30: Lamb of God

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 78:1-40. Verse 36, when have I tried to manipulate God through flattery and lies, and paid the price for it? What’s my safeguard against trying to do this again?

Esther 2:1-23. Esther and Mordecai quietly maneuver into a position of advantage. What qualities did God endow upon them, that I might seek from him to become more useful to his kingdom?

John 1:35-42. What qualities in the brothers Andrew and Simon, equipping them to recognize Jesus as the Lamb of God and follow at his call, shall I ask God to endow in me today?

Luke 12:35-40. In practical everyday terms at this season, what will the disciplines of watchfulness and readiness, enjoined by Jesus, look like in my life?
