Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 30:1-12. Verses 5 and 11, when has God turned my sorrow into joy? By what thoughts and actions can I stand ready for such a blessing from him today?
II Chronicles 19:1-11. King Jehoshaphat pleases God by establishing a regime of justice and righteousness. What can my church do to encourage godly standards in civil government?
Revelation 1:1-20. Verse 11, how would my church be felt as more of a force in our community if it considered itself to be under direct orders from the crucified and risen Lord Jesus Christ?
Luke 22:14-23. Related, does the Lord’s Supper of Jesus’ own body and blood mean as much to me as he intended it to mean for his apostles? How would this show?
