Bible Wednesday 11/12: Remember and Repent

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 34:1-22. Verse 8, if I were urging an inquirer to taste the goodness of God, what would I tell him it tastes like? Why is it desirable and delicious?

II Chronicles 20:1-37. Verse 17, what battle am I facing right now that seems too much for me? What is the mental and physical posture for me to stand still and see God’s salvation?

Revelation 2:1-11. Verse 4, what qualities do I need to recover from the early days when I first loved Jesus? Have I taken too much for granted, let things become too routine?

Luke 22:24-34. What opportunity is Jesus giving me today to serve alongside him? What false definition of greatness is trying to lure me away from that?
