Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 150:1-6. How would this day be better if I could make my prayers as natural and as constant as breathing: inhaling God’s truth and love, exhaling my praise and petitions and thanks to Him?
Micah 4:1-11. When have I thought my standards of right and wrong were higher than God’s? What did I learn? Present application?
Revelation 22:1-21. Today how can I approach the throne of God and of the Lamb, Jesus crucified and risen, to partake of the river of life, to drink of it and wash in it and share it with others?
Matthew 25:31-46. Looking back over 2025, what were the times I had a chance to help “the least of these”—and thus help Jesus himself—but turned away? How can I do better in the coming year?
