Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 95:1-11. Verse 8, today will I defy God with a heart that is hard and proud, or obey him with a heart that is meek and teachable?
Leviticus 12:1-8. Does my church regard babies and their mothers as sacred and precious, as God commanded Moses, or as clinical and cold in today’s materialistic way? What’s at stake?
Acts 2:22-35. Peter’s sermon on Pentecost, proclaiming Jesus as God’s Messiah, crucified and risen. What response in thought and action does this demand from me today?
John 2:13-25. Jesus identifies himself as the true temple and foretells his crucifixion and resurrection. Who needs to hear this gospel from me today?
