Bible Sunday 6/8: Pentecost

Studying this morning's readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 51:1-19. Verse 17, is the requirement of coming before God with a broken and contrite heart meant for someone else or at some other time—or for me today, here and now?

Acts 2:1-21. How can my church go about reclaiming some of the wind and fire and power of proclamation that the newborn church expressed on Pentecost? What is my role in that?

John 16:5-15. As we are told that one office of the Holy Spirit is to help us know Jesus better, what do I specifically want from Jesus at this point in my life?
