Bible Tuesday 6/3: Victory

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 81:1-16. Verses 10-14, when did God let me learn something the hard way? Who is someone I see now headed down the same painful path? What’s to be done?

Leviticus 6:1-30. Verse 2, sinning against both God and my neighbor. What did society gain when wrongdoing was made a purely civil matter, supposedly of no concern to God? What did we lose?

I John 4:20-5:13. Verse 4, victory by faith. If overcoming the world is a lifelong process for me, what specific battleground am I fighting on today? How will my faith bring victory?

John 15:9-17. Verses 12-14, Jesus commands us to love each other not just reciprocally but sacrificially, if we want to be his friends. For what person in my life right now shall I put this into practice?
