Bible Monday 6/16: Sounds Easy

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 112:1-10. Verse 9, how can I do more to help the poor? Why does it matter to God?

Leviticus 19:1-37. Verse 18, what is a difficult instance of loving my neighbor that I’m facing right now? What is an easy instance of the same, at which I’m still doing poorly? Why love myself anyway? Action point for today?

Acts 4:32-37. Do I own my possessions, or do my possessions tend to own me? Why does this passage connect the resurrection of the Lord Jesus with how we handle our material goods?

John 17:1-10. Jesus the Son prays to God the Father specifically and personally for me. How does this work for my benefit today—all I must do, all I must undergo, all I must learn and know?
