Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 9:1-20. Verse 9, God is a refuge for the oppressed. To what forms of oppression is my church effectively ministering? What other forms of oppression should we also address? My role?
Numbers 10:1-36. Moses makes two silver trumpets to command the people’s attention at times of danger and celebration. Does my church have the right balance between individuality and community?
Acts 10:24-33. The apostle and the soldier discuss how God has been moving both of them the past three days. When has God irresistibly moved me for his special purpose? Application to present needs?
Mark 3:1-6. The Pharisees set out to destroy Jesus for the “crime” of saving a man’s life on the sabbath. What risks am I being asked to take for the glory of God at ths chapter of my life?
