Bible Wednesday 7/16: Shall I Press Harder?

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 40:1-17. Verse 3, what new song can God possibly put in my mouth at this late date, after so many years of studying Scripture and following Jesus?-

Numbers 22:1-41. Balaam, tempted to speak against God, finds one obstacle after another in his way. When have I stubbornly contended against God, making it hard for myself? Application to present needs?

Acts 14:19-28. Stoned and left for dead by yet another mob, Paul revives and goes back to preach in the very cities that previously rejected him. What is discipleship costing me today? Shall I press harder?

Mark 5:15-34. Who do I know that needs to touch Jesus’ robe today, converse with him, and receive new life? How can I help to facilitate that?
