Bible Tuesday 7/15: Mystery of the Cross

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 37:1-40. Verse 23, what would it specifically look like today for me to allow all my steps to be ordered by the Lord?

Numbers 21:1-35. Hard times in the desert for the Israelites, who complain against Moses and God, bringing fiery snakebites upon themselves. When have I experienced the self-punishing torments of sin?

Isaiah 52:13-53:6. Jesus the man of sorrows, who bears my griefs and with whose stripes I am healed. What attitudes and actions are required from me today so that I may participate in that healing?

John 3:11-21. Related, verse 14, when this and succeeding verses ask me to believe in Christ raised high on the cross, what does that really involve from moment to moment as this day goes along?
