Bible Monday 7/14: Legion Cast Out

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 38:1-22. Verse 22, in what area of my life am I feeling a sense of urgency and haste right now, as if God’s help was sore delayed, taking too long, coming too slowly? Can I no longer trust him?

Numbers 20:1-29. Verses 7-13, Moses’ impatience withGod’s instructions for getting water costs him entry into the Promised Land. When have I thought I knew just a little bit better than God?

Acts 14:1-18. The apostles are again chased off by religious mobs, but persist in preaching and healing. Are there risks that Jesus is prompting me to take for the gospel, yet I remain hesitant? Is this the day?

Mark 5:1-20. In what ways, blatant or subtle, is the world’s hatred or scorn for Jesus made manifest here and now? How does the Lord want me to stand up against that today?
