Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 81:1-16. Verse 10, open your mouth wide. What attitudes and actions is God asking of me here? With what is he then promising to fill my mouth?
Amos 3:1-15. Verses 4 and 8, how does God’s warning to transgressors and evildoers resemble a lion’s roar in these times? What must I do, here and now without delay?
Acts 20:17-38. Verse 35, by what specific actions can I live out today Jesus’ teaching (passed along by Paul) that it is more blessed to give than to receive?
Mark 9:30-41. How can I think less today about my own supposed greatness, and more about bringing children to Jesus?
