Bible Tuesday 7/8: Angel in the Prison

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 19:1-14. Verse 14, reviewing yesterday, what words did I speak or what thoughts did I dwell on, that displeased God? How can I do better today?

Numbers 14:1-45. Fear, panic, and rebellion overtake the Israelites upon hearing the scouts’ report. Moses intercedes to obtain God’s pardon. What is the lowest ebb my faith ever sank to? How did God show up?

Acts 12:1-19. An angel frees Peter from Herod’s dungeon. What “chains” am I praying for God to strike off today from my hands or the hands of a loved one?

Mark 3:31-35. In what specific, practical way can I do the will of God today? What will it feel like, as a result, for Jesus to embrace me as his brother?
