Bible Monday 7/7: Grasshoppers?

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 18:1-50. Verse 19, do I really believe God delights in me? What is the evidence for and against? How can I thank him today?

Numbers 13:1-33. Related, most of Moses’ scouts return from Canaan insisting God’s promises are too good to be true. When have I felt like a puny grasshopper in the face of some difficulty? How did God show up?

Acts 11:19-30. Barnabas continues mentoring Saul (Paul) and raising up the Antioch church. Who has been a spiritual father or mother to me? How can I thank or honor that person here and now?

Mark 3:20-30. What steps can I take today to obey more fully Jesus’ warning about binding “the strong man,” Satan?
