Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 139:1-24. Verse 17, are God’s thoughts indeed precious to me? Do my actions prove it? What might be the substance of some of those thoughts toward me, right now today?
Joshua 17:1-18. Joshua challenges the tribe of Joseph to stop complaining and take hold of what God has promised them. What’s the application of this story to my current situation?
II Corinthians 1:15-2:2. Verses 17-22, related, the God we know through Jesus Christ is not a God of yes/no/maybe, but an absolutely reliable God who keeps his promises. Application for me today?
Mark 14:43-52. The Romans seize Jesus and all his disciples flee. What price have I paid for being a Christ-follower? Is the price going up? Will I stand firm or desert?
