Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 143:1-12. Verse 10, teach me to do thy will. What might those lessons from God look like in the specific context of this day? Can I expect them to be easy or hard?
Joshua 18:1-28. Joshua sends out a surveying party, three men per tribe, to help equitably divide the Promised Land. When have I been given a specific trust for advancement of the kingdom? What did I learn?
II Corinthians 2:3-11. Verse 11, beware of Satan gaining a foothold through frictions in the Body of Christ. What form might this take in my church? How should we guard against it?
Mark 14:53-65. On trial for his life, Jesus claims the Messiahship and is found guilty. What are some of the lies still told about Jesus in these times? How can I counter those lies with God’s truth?
