Bible Tuesday 9/2: Ambassadors for Christ

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 6:1-10. Verse 9, receive my prayer. Today, as I pray, will I do it with steady assurance that God hears me, or with shaky concern that I’m doing it wrong, or that he’s not listening, or with other such doubts?

Joshua 22:1-16. As God is faithful to you (says Joshua, soon to die), so now will you be faithful to him? Shall I serve the Lord with keen intentionality today, or just coast along, go with the flow?

II Corinthians 5:11-21. Verse 17, related, by what specific markers can others see that I’m becoming a new creature in Christ? In what areas is this still a work in progress for me?

Mark 15:33-47. Jesus’ final agony, death, and burial. Verse 34, when have I been tempted to feel forsaken by God? What did I learn? Present application?
